Exchange Programs
Galatasaray University has agreements with various universities in many European countries, primarily France, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Exchange Program, an EU program aimed at increasing cooperation among higher education institutions in European countries. The Erasmus+ student and faculty mobility, facilitated by these agreements, is also supported by the Department of Industrial Engineering. Our students can study and intern at these partner universities.
The universities with which the GSÜ Industrial Engineering Department has agreements within the scope of the Erasmus+ exchange program are as follows:
- Université d’Angers
- Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble (INPG)
- Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon (INSA de Lyon)
- Université SIGMA Clermont
- Université Grenoble Alpes
The first point of contact for students wishing to benefit from the Erasmus+ Exchange Program is the GSÜ International Relations Office website. This page contains practical information about the program details, application requirements, living conditions, and current announcements.
Information regarding the application requirements, quotas, and necessary documents for Industrial Engineering Department students wishing to study at a university abroad with which our university has a mobility agreement through the Erasmus+ Exchange Program is announced annually on the Department's website and faculty notice boards, upon the proposal of the Department's Erasmus+ Coordinator and the approval of the Department Head.
Industrial Engineering Department students can apply to the Erasmus+ Program to go abroad in their 7th semester of undergraduate studies. Applications are accepted and finalized during the spring semester of each term. Students who meet the Department's criteria are considered to have fulfilled the application prerequisites. Students must submit their application forms, motivation letters, CVs, transcripts, and foreign language proficiency test results to the Department's Erasmus+ Coordinator. Students wishing to attend a university that teaches in French must provide their DELF B2 exam results, while those wishing to attend a university that teaches in English must provide their TOEFL or IELTS exam results. For universities that teach in other languages, the results of the proficiency exam organized by the Department of Foreign Languages ??will be considered. A student can choose up to 3 different universities in their application.
Erasmus+ Exchange Program applications are reviewed by a five-person committee chaired by the University Erasmus+ Coordinator, with members including the Department Erasmus+ Officer and Department representatives. Department representatives on the committee are appointed annually by the Head of Department. Students who meet the application requirements are interviewed orally in a foreign language by this committee on a date announced during the spring semester. A ranking of applicants is created based on the interview result (25%), GPA (50%), and foreign language exam result (25%). Students who are definitively accepted to the program are selected and announced within the quota based on their department preferences and ranking. Selected students must successfully complete all courses taken in the EMLP program before the semester they will be abroad. Students choose the courses they will take in their host department with the approval of the Department Erasmus+ Officer. Other processes that students need to complete before and after their departure abroad are managed by the GSÜ International Relations Office.
